Interesting to read how you did this, Mark - well done! I like the reflection in your eye of the light - reminds me of the moon!

Very sharp! Your eyes.. or eye... is such a nice blue! I agree with you about the reflection about the light on the iris though... it's a bit strong.

Linda, the short answer, I used the macro setting on the camera and zoomed in for the higher f-stop. Camera on a tripod less than 2 feet away. Autofocus. The original includes my eyebrow, nose and chunk of left cheek. (That's part of why the eye itself is a little less than tack sharp, I needed something like f/11 or more precise focusing on the eye and not my cheek and brows.) I cropped it to this and resized it up in PS Elements.

Jeanne, I have made enough space in the living room for one light. I think the egg beater shot was the first time I used it. In that one I fired the strobe manually and successfully synched it with the slow shutter. That was not easy, well, actually it was, but since then it's been hard to synch the flash and the camera manually, so I've begun just using the 250w modeling lamp and incandescent WB. Funny, I don't like the light. I think it's distracting! I wanted all blue in the eye.

Awesome closeup! How did you do this and get it in focus?

When I took May to the opticians I was told to “have a look”.
She had cataracts in both eyes. One had been removed and the lens replaced.
They were quite amazing to look into.

WOW! NICE! Love the light too! You set your lights up? COOL! I want to try this!

Larry, stop it! You're making me wince. Ouch!

First of all my eyes are starting to tear up now. (I have a weird eye thing. I can't look at Jennifer when she puts her contacts in I FREAK out. Maybe it was the time when a nail went in my eye and had to have 7 stitches, but did no damage, or the time when I was two and I had glass fly into my face, and had to have over 60 stitches to close it, the scare shrinked as I grew older and did no damage to my eyes. In any-rate my eyes are full of tears due to my drama when I was a child.) WOW - that felt good - thanks Dr. Mark!

Oh yea awesome clear image - even if it's a little blury to me right now... :)
