Striking, moving image, Mark - well done. It tricks the eye into thinking this was a selective color project in Photoshop. :)

Somehow even more painful to see him out in the cold.
An excellent image. Well done Mark.

Great composition Mark. Very monochromatic, the the Colors in the background, and snow on a very appropiate statue. Very well done.

I like this one Mark. I thought the same as Jeanne when I first saw it. Full marks, excellent!

Larry, I'll be adding Vietnam Memorial shots later. I'm glad this photo moves you. I think it was my best shot of the day. It says more than any of the "pretty" shots I took.

It was a very "B&W" day, Jeanne. I decided to try this as a "selective color" shot. Plus I played around with many angles. This is one of my favorite soldiers in this Memorial, maybe he's so close and you can feel him holding you back. All the expressions on these guys faces are very realistic. I've shot them many times, bu this was the first time I got to do the winter snow shot. Well, maybe second?

WOW, Mark this is awesome!! I thought at first you had selected the flags to leave in color, but I see now, it just looks that way! Great image, really!! WOW!

My dad is a Vietnam Vet. Growing up as a Vet's son, and watching my dad struggle for the first 10 years he was back, after serving three straight years as a Navy Corman, I can appreciate the value in what this photo really means to me. My grandfather served two years in the Korean War. Thank you for bringing us such a lovely, and true hearted photo! Please stop by this site, and read her story - www.vietnamdogtags.com
