Iconic Bristlecone

This image and the next seven, were taken on my second visit to the Patriach Grove of the Bristlecone Pine Forest at 11,000 feet elevation, after 12 miles of rough dirt road. I searched for this iconic tree that I photogrhed 12 years earlier, and finally found it by walking behind it. Knowing now how to avoid blowing out highlights, I think I came away with a better photo. The difficulty in photographing these trees is hiking around at 11,000 plus altitude.
