Champion titled as puppies, Queenie and Satin were first cousins. They were the homebred children of homebred, Brite Star champion, litter sisters: Candy and Evie.

Although this photo comes from an All-Breed Dog Show, Queenie & Satin (plus each of the Brite Star Chihuahuas behind them) earned multiple Chihuahua, Specialty Show Wins (including wins at the CCA National) to their credit. At the CCA National Specialty show, Satin went Best Puppy as a 6 month old baby, soon after this photo was taken. Queenie went BOS at the CCA the following year as a champion. These cousins came from a "winning" family in which both their sires and dams and the sires & dams before them also had notable CCA and/or other Specialty show wins. Quality produces quality.

I know that these two Chi kids weren't "standing pretty" (especially Queenie) in this particular photograph. Nevertheless, it was still a memorable day.

This was a 5-point Major Win for both (just 6 months old) that day. It was also just one of many shows - where this duo captured both Winners Dog and Winners Bitch (over strong competition in both sexes) on the same day. Both of their championships came very fast and were well won.

This day was just one of many, many happy memories of a couple of special Chihuahua kids at the start of their show careers. And from near the beginning of mine, too.
