After 2 days on a zinnia, the poor zinnia looked pretty ragged. Rather than chew holes in a plant like many insects do, miridae feed on plant sap by piercing tissues with their rostrum. The effect is dried out, tiny brown spots and eventually collapse. These bugs can suck the life out of a flower or a plant.
