It happened mainly overnight into this morning. I chose not to go outside today.
Instead, I took this photo inside our nice, warm house.

The Blizzard Warning went into effect beginning at 9 p.m. last night and ended this morning. Wind gusts up to 70 MPH were recorded, with a steady wind of 45 MPH for an extended period of time. Visibility was down to zero in many places. Schools were closed today, and there were widespread power outages across the Metro. This all sounds pretty terrible and was for a while.
However, unlike the January 5th blizzard this year, today's blizzard produced very little snowfall: only 2 to 3 inches. Although tempts remained below freezing all day, the sun came out in the afternoon and started to immediately melt a lot of the snow. Such is Midwestern weather.
