This morning, Tara played some more with what was left of the wrapping on her Valentine gift basket.
See yesterday's photo: https://pbase.com/britestar/image/175239252 As I said, she's a very unique puppy.
After that, I finally removed the plastic gift bag to let her see what was inside the basket. She didn't care. Instead, she immediately tried to eat the tissue paper. We had a small battle over my getting the pink paper away from her. After that, she then decided she liked the paper tags on the various toys in the basket. So, she spent a bit of time pulling the basket around by a tag on one of the toys firmly lodged in the bottom of the basket. You can see what I mean by "tags" in the above photo.
Okay, I loosened the toys to see if she could pick her favorite toy before I removed all of them from the basket. You know; cute photo maybe... However, Tara had other ideas. She just kept chewing on the various paper tags. She definitely had a lot of fun with the cardboard on each toy that had cardboard with them. However, she still didn't try to take any of the toys out of the basket.
I eventually took each toy out of the basket for her to see the toys individually. I also removed with cardboard tags off the ones with cardboard. Not having the cardboards to play with, Tara immediately decided the tush tags were the next best thing.
Although she did spend a little bit of time playing with each of her new toys briefly, she felt that sucking on their tush tags was a whole lot more fun than the new toys. So, tomorrow, I will cut off the distraction of tush tags. We'll see what she does then.
As I have said, this is one VERY spoilt and unique puppy. She now has about two dozen toys that are just for her alone. Interestingly, she will play with every single one of them briefly every single day without any encouragement. However, she does still seem to have the attention span of a gnat. She goes from one toy to the next and then quickly loses interest. She did that even back when she only had two toys. She also considers our other Chihuahua girls as just more of her toys. Fortunately, her now having a lot of other toys lessens her harassing the older girls. I've never had a puppy with a personality like hers before.
The longest, so far, that Tara has ever spent with any one thing has been chewing on the cardboard big tags on the toys in the Valentine basket & then sucking on their little cloth tush tags today. Before I removed the outside wrapping paper, she also seemed to really enjoy fussing with the ribbons on the gift basket and dragging the basket around. I think she enjoyed doing those things more than the individual toys inside,
Happy Valentine's Day!
