This poor bulb may be going into the garbage.

This is its second flower stalk. However, it is currently blooming in the dark out in my garage.
When I found thrips on the first blooms, I immediately banished the plant to the garage. This has been my first run in with thrips indoors or out, and I don't want to risk infecting my entire plant collection. Other than destroying the plant, I didn't know what else to do with it for now. I was surprised when it put out a second flower stalk with 4 big blooms.

Due to the plant sitting in very low light (in a very out of the way place), this shot isn't the best. I couldn't turn it for the best view. However, I wanted some sort of memory shot in case this Amaryllis doesn't live to see another blooming. Frankly, I don't know what I'm going to do with it. The flowers are pretty. Maybe I'll put it outside when the weather warms up and try to treat it with Neem. I hate to just give up on it. Unfortunately, thrips will fly from plant to plant.

I'm not sure how I ended up with this problem. These pests seem to have arrived along with my new 2024 amaryllis bulbs. Since I purchased bulbs from 4 different vendors, I don't know which one. This is the third one of my new plants that I've found within the past week to host the nasty, little creatures. All have been removed from the living areas of our home to get them away from uninfected plants.
