KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City native and comedian Rob Riggle was in town to help raise money for Kansas City police on Friday. Riggle was the guest speaker at the Police Foundation of Kansas City’s “A Call for Back Up” Fundraiser. “There are tragedies that happen,” said Riggle. “This was one of them, but we’re a very strong city.”

I really don't know what to say. "Hope" is being optimistic.
"KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri officials recently defended in court a far-reaching state law that declares some federal firearms laws “invalid,” a stark demonstration of how far the state has gone to thwart restrictions on guns.
The February 14th mass shooting has led to renewed calls for action on gun violence and focused fresh attention on Missouri’s loose firearms laws. Republicans, with few exceptions, have resisted demands to consider new restrictions. Since the shooting, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has promoted his role in defending the Second Amendment Preservation Act." March 1, 2024 Kansas City Star

Meanwhile, the tally of shootings and gun deaths in the Kansas City area continue to go up and up and up almost daily in 2024. The fatal Super Bowl mass shooting was only one of a continuing string of gun related incidents: day after day. One police officer & one county worker were shot to death & 2 others wounded in an Independence, Mo. shooting yesterday. There seems to be no end to this madness. I haven't checked today's news, but gun violence is destroying all ability for anyone to be safe anywhere. Sadly, the community has become accepting of this fact. And the gun violence continues.
