Chile flips over to get tummy rubs.
She can get quite aggressive, including climbing right on top of her humans before flipping over on her back.
That way you can't miss what she wants.
Just before I took this shot, she was pawing at my husband's hand - with his cell phone in it - to try to make him see how she was repeatedly rolling over next to him to be rubbed. When she wants rubbed, human hands aren't allowed to do anything else.
However, as soon as she saw me with my Cell phone cam, she decided to "cool it" until I put the camera down. So, this wasn't a full roll over. Chile has my husband trained to rub her for hours. After she has contently had enough, she'll then hop on top of his shoulder to take an evening snooze. She's a Daddy's Girl", but she's a Mama's Girl, too. She has him trained. But she follows me everywhere.
Each of our Chihuahuas has its own unique personality, as do all Chihuahuas. Our girls share a lot in common, but they are also very distinct individuals with individual quirks and likes and mannerisms. All seem to like to have their tummies rubbed (as do a lot of dogs), but Chile absolutely won't take "no" for an answer when she wants immediate attention. As I said, she can get aggressive (in a cute way) with her demands. If I'm busy with something else, my "no, not right now" is firmer than my husband's. She knows how to play him. He gives in to her every time.
People don't "own" Chihuahuas.
Maybe Chihuahuas own their people...
Chihuahuas demand that their humans fulfill their every whim.
And we do.
