‘Stargazer’ Amaryllis are a fabulous red with a white star center that boast blooms up to 7” across. These amazing beauties reach a mature height of approx. 18-24”.
New to me in 2023.
I also purchased a bulb named "Samba" from the same company. But those blooms looked exactly like "Stargazer", and not like the photo in the bulb catalog. So, I think my "Samba" bulb was mislabled. These two plants are in bloom at the same time & I can't tell them apart beyond the pots they are in. With the intense green eye that my "Stargazer" has, I'm not even positive that it really is a "Stargazer." Both my "Stargazer" and my "Samba" bulbs may have been mislabled. I really don't know. But both look - to me anyhow - like the more common "Minerva" that can be purchased about anywhere.
Although I only buy from legitimate sources (different ones) with high ratings,
I seem to receive more than my share of mislabled bulbs...
Disappointing. Yes! Plus, these bulbs aren't inexpensive!!!
However even if mislabled, they still are beautiful when in bloom.
Amaryllises fascinate me. That's why I grow so many.
