Evening in Our Yard 8-29-22

Normally, the groundhogs run and hide whenever deer are around. For some reason, groundhogs seem afraid of deer or else just don't like them. But this time was different. This lone fawn got separated from his mom and litter mate. Spotting the groundhog, he curiously approached the rodent. However, for a change, the groundhog didn't run away this time. While they were this close together, they didn't make eye contact. But as soon as they were just a few feet farther away, the baby deer stared at the groundhog in total fascination. The groundhog just ignored it. This was a unique moment in time that I felt that I needed to record.
