Fireworks at Dusk

The local country club (exclusive members only) puts on holiday fireworks displays for various holidays. The Independence Day one is always on July 3rd. This year, it was raining heavily for most of the day. Therefore, they started to set off their fireworks in between rains while it was still daylight. The above photo was taken at the very end of the display as it was just starting to get dark.

Years ago, we had a clear view of a half dozen July 4th fireworks displays from our back deck. However, over the years, trees in our yard and the neighborhood grew larger until the clear view was pretty much gone for most of them. Depending on what kind of fireworks are used, we can still sometimes see parts of the country club's displays, but only when some of the blasts are high enough to clear the treetops. Most aren't. That's why I don't go to a lot of trouble to set up to try to get any photos. Instead, if we notice fireworks from the country club, I will usually just use a handheld bridge camera and hope for the best.

This year's daytime display was almost impossible to shoot.
But I did get a few shots at the end after the sky became a little darker.
A Memory Shot.
