The Victims of Drought

This was the drought of 2012.

A stream once flowed beside the dying willow trees.
Today, the stream and the willows are now gone.
After a string of July 2022, 100-degree days and no rain,
there is a fear that the area may be headed toward a new period of drought.
Climate Change is affecting almost everyone.

This scene was once lush and green.
A lover of willow trees, my spotting them dying like this made me stop my car and sadly take this photo.
This "roadside distraction" marked the end of an era.

A look at what used to be and all the more poignant for that. Many lakes, reservoirs, wetlands are drying up as the heat increases. Climate change is real!

We haven't had a rain since April 24th and we've had 20 over 100 degree days (last year we had none but typical summer is 3). V
