Within days after we had returned home from our South Pacific honeymoon, my husband was then sent on an extended multi week, multi country, European business trip. Being a newlywed, he of course took me along. The evenings were ours together. However, while he was working, I spent my days sightseeing and shopping. What a teenager's dream come true!

I mailed the Steiff lion in this photo back home to our Pug Dog. The package was actually addressed to the Pug. All these years later, that lion is now in the life of our current dogs. They sit with him regularly. Sometimes on the back of the sofa. The Steiff lion was a snuggle buddy (not a toy) to our Pug, who was its official "owner." It's been the same with our other dogs over the years.
