Curious Statistics

Missouri Governor State of the State message yesterday:
"Today, one of our greatest successes is in the fact that more than 94 percent of Missourians 65 and older, our most vulnerable population, have received protection from this virus."

Meanwhile according to the local health department update on 1-19-22,
the county in which we live ONLY has a 68.14% Senior Vaccination rate;
plus a very low 43.1% overall one…

Our county has nowhere near the lowest vaccination rate in the state; nor the highest percentage of senior citizens. Some other counties have only 41% of their population vaccinated.
Does the difference from the state’s supposed vaccination total then mean that some Missouri counties have a 100% vaccination rate to compensate the difference to create a 94% statistic? If so, which counties???

New York Time Statistics says that, as of 1-19-22 (same date as the governor's speech),
83% of Missouri seniors are vaccinated.

Although the NY Times statistics are 11% lower than those that the Missouri governor claims,
it is still around 15% higher than our county’s health department statistics. Interesting.
Guess we just live in a low vaccination county; no matter how one looks at it…

Low vaccination rates mean raised vulnerability.
However,
“New vaccinations have effectively stalled in Missouri.” KMIZ News

County schools are closed because of high infection rates and a lack of substitute teachers.
Hospitalizations and deaths rates are both at a record high. Frightenly so.
And the pandemic continues on. All across the USA.
