A Sign that the Holidays are Here 11-23-21

Christmas Cactus Bloom
Really Thanksgiving Cactus
Pretty Either Way
******
Today, the very first flower of the Holiday Season at our house is now in bloom on one of my Schlumbergera. I purchased this plant several years ago as a “Christmas Cactus”. However, most plants sold in the USA as being a Christmas Cactus seem to really be a Thanksgiving Cactus. That was the case with the flowering plant in my photo. This year, it seems to know that Thanksgiving is now only a day away. Smart plant. My others are just starting to form buds.

I grow all 3 varieties of the holiday plants mentioned in the article.

I also do nothing special to get my holiday plants to bloom from one year to the next. My plants just do what they want to do; when they want to do it. This one normally sits in my kitchen window.

Hmmm - mine must be the same even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving as they are fully in bloom.
