As climate change brings more heatwaves, droughts and heavy downpours, plants are experiencing additional stress. That stress could cause more plants to bloom in the fall and fewer buds to open in the spring. That seems to be what is happening with this crab apple that has unexpectedly put out a few sad blossoms. Most of the leaves have already prematurely fallen from the tree.
