Daylight Savings Time Ends 2020

Sycamore on this Day

As in years past, the Clock has been rolled back one hour on the first Sunday in November. But Fall 2020 is unlike any other year in my lifetime.

Sunday US COVID News

“The White House on Sunday issued a scorching rebuke of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government's foremost infectious disease expert, accusing him of “play[ing] politics” in a recent interview about the ongoing dangers of the coronavirus. Fauci, who has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, has scrupulously avoided taking a stand on electoral politics throughout his career, and in his interview he did not endorse either candidate.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows bluntly admitted last Sunday that his administration was not seeking to “control” the pandemic’s spread. Trump has repeatedly insisted that the U.S. is “rounding the corner” with the coronavirus, downplaying surges and attacking local governments’ efforts to curtail the spread. He has even suggested that it should be illegal for the media to aggressively cover the virus so close to the Nov. 3 election, and that “on Nov. 4 you won’t hear about it anymore.”

Bill Trump signed in October was meant to strip job security from senior civil servants like Fauci. The impact of that move on Fauci’s future is unclear. With Fauci gone, Americans would then get all their coronavirus information solely from Dr. Scott Atlas, a close Trump ally & radiologist who was recently rebuked by Twitter for a tweet falsely asserting that masks do not work against the coronavirus. ” Yahoo News

Fauci Warns Herd Immunity Will Kill People: 'An Unacceptable Pathway' Newsweek You know how many deaths you're gonna have before you get there? That's an unacceptable pathway. 70 to 75 percent of a population would need to get the coronavirus in order for herd immunity to be achieved, Kaiser Family Foundation non-profit, around four in ten adults (37.6 percent) of over 18s have a higher risk of becoming seriously ill due to COVID-19, amounting to 92.6 million people. Trump said during an ABC News townhall: "you'll develop [...] like a herd mentality it's going to be [...] herd developed and that's going to happen."

The Chicago Tribune reported that prosecutors in Chicago said two sisters had attacked a store security guard with a garbage can. One had stabbed him repeatedly with a small knife on Sunday after he tried to insist that they wear masks and use the store’s hand sanitizer on entry. It is not the most violent episode reported during the pandemic. In September, an 80-year-old man in upstate New York was killed after he asked a business patron to wear a mask. Though experts have stated repeatedly that masks help curb the spread of the virus, enforcing mask requirements has been difficult. Retail workers are often the ones enforcing the mask rules — and getting hurt. NYTimes

“A group of Stanford University economists who created a statistical model estimate that there have been at least 30,000 coronavirus infections and 700 deaths as a result of 18 campaign rallies President Trump held between June 20 and Sept. 12. Because Trump rallies are isolated events with a finite beginning and end, they are “cleaner events to study” ” NY Times Isn’t the American president supposed to be protecting the American people – not killing them??? These figures do not include Trump’s recent October maskless, rally blitz across the USA. If future news is not prohibited & censored, we’ll know more about that damage by December or January….
