Zinnias and Marigolds

There was a 25 degree drop in high temperatures between today and yesterday. Nevertheless, the day still turned out to be sunny. Before tonight’s frost (with a low near 32 degrees), I shot what may be my last outdoor flower photo of the season.
Although I brought all my tropical house plants back indoors with the only other frost of the season (back on October 1st), I left my more hardy herbs outside. For those couple of hours of super cold, I had covered the herbs with a large quilt. They were good to go for the next two weeks outside. Today, however, I had to finally also bring the herbs back into the Solar Room. Tonight’s cold may be a killing frost. Guess I’ll know more about that tomorrow when I see what happened overnight tonight to the few remaining plants left on the deck. Outdoors photo opts are quickly disappearing.
