Saturday US COVID News

•“Trump’s doctor raises questions about timeline of diagnosis, treatment at press conference. At a Saturday morning press conference, President Trump’s medical team suggested that the President knew he tested positive for coronavirus earlier than has been previously reported. Dr. Sean Conley, Trump’s physician, said that we’re “72 hours into the diagnosis,” meaning the President could have test positive as early as Wednesday.”
Washington Post

•“The diagnoses of the president and several of his associates also exposed severe holes in the White House’s Covid-19 protocol, which has largely consisted of frequent rapid tests. Health experts say that conducting frequent tests without also wearing masks and social distancing is an ineffective way of combating the virus, since it can take days for a person to test positive after being infected. The White House will continue to leave mask-wearing optional on its grounds, an official said Friday.”

COVID news seems to be happening faster than one can keep up. One current Super Spreader situation seems to be focused around President Trump and his circle. Meanwhile, the situation with “the common folk” has our state as being 3rd in the country with the highest increase of COVID deaths this past week. COVID deaths are up 114%. This shadows record cases and hospitalizations.

For some odd reason, most people locally refuse to wear a mask while out & about. Even delivery people, going door to door and coming face to face with many different people, don’t wear a mask. That increases the risk of COVID spread. So our personal world remains restricted. To continue to protect ourselves during these trying times, our closest “in person” nonfamily contacts remain the local wildlife …

Thank goodness the backyard wildlife continue to do cute things to entertain us. Even the dogs (who no longer get their long stroller walks) have turned their attention to the local backyard wildlife. Bella barks, “Squirrel!!! Squirrel!!!” Chile barks, “Deer!!! Deer!!!”
