Yellow Sky 2020

From a Sailor's Guide on How to Predict Weather:
"Yellow sky at sunset means wind".

April 28, 2020, 01:09 GMT
USA
1,035,765 confirmed cases of COVID-19
59,266 American Deaths

Update: 25,409 new cases and 2,470 new deaths in the United States

Milestone: Today, the number of American deaths from COVID-19 in March & April 2020 went above all the lives lost during the entire Vietnam War. That War lasted 20 years. So much sadness.

NOA Weather Radio just came on with an Emergency "High Wind Warning." Although thunderstorms are not predicted, we are currently experiencing 70 MPH sustained, high wind in our area - with gusts up to 75 MPH. These hurricane force winds are expected to continue for 30 minutes up to 3 hours. The weather forecaster isn't sure. To quote our local TV meteorologist who is currently on air with the news: WEIRD. Guess the "Sailor's Guide" was right about the yellow sky a couple hours ago... Hopefully there won't be a lot of wind damage.

The light here is so nice. Hope the trees are still standing once the wind stops.

Really beautiful shot no matter what it means. I hope there was no damage. Where is this? ~BV~

A beautiful sky well captured Liz. Perhaps the Sailor's Guide is correct, at least in this instant. A sad state of affairs in both our countries, but yours, it seems, more so than ours. With so many cases and deaths and the pandemic not even peaked, tattoo parlors, and other similar non-essential businesses are starting to be opened-up. Its frightening to think where this might lead to.

So much sadness in the world... your sky looks like ours did over summer with those months of fires and two weeks after coronavirus arrived with a travellers returning from Chinese New Year...and the ball keeps on rolling.

Nice landscape and the light is special .
Sort getting tired of the wind lately but that seems to
be the trend in the weather even in your location.
I agree the lives lost is sad hope it all ends soon.
