Not to Blame 2018

Golden Rod

This wild flower has long been blamed for allergy sufferers miseries.

However, less-showy ragweed http://www.pbase.com/britestar/image/168178049
which blooms at the same time
is the real culprit behind hay fever's sneezing, sniffling and itchy eyes.

Golden Rod can be used for a pop of color in a wild flower garden and NOT cause any allergy problems. It also is a good plant for attracting butterflies and bees and various nectar feeding insects in the Fall.
