Jail

48 hours after first meeting Chile

All new dogs, coming into our home, go thru this temporary phase until after my vet has done a health exam; plus after a stool sample test comes back free of any problems. That is because I have other dog; including one who is almost 18 years old. I am a very protective doggy "mom".

I do feel bad that the new puppy has to spend some time in quarantine. I can hardly wait until she's free & can play with Bailey and Bella and our seniors. Meanwhile, her breeder assured me that if Chile is already shredding the Puppy Pads, she isn't overly stressed and is feeling somewhat at ease with us already.

FYI,Chile is NOT living in this X-pen. This is only where she is temporarily going potty until she gets a completely clean bill of health from our vet (including the fecal sample that was sent to an outside lab). Chile does not spend a lot of time outside. She is already getting plenty of hugs and cuddles. The only other difference (between Chile and our other Chihuahua family members) is that Chile is temporarily being kept in one room in the house and not yet given total free run of the house with the other dogs.

Oh, poor baby! She's looking longingly at the outside world. Hope she's there now!

Wont it be great when all this is done...and she can catch up with all the hugs & pats..
