January 2018 is a "Blue Moon" month.
The first of the two moons is the above Super Moon on New Years Day.

Because the actual temperature outside here was minus (-) 6 degrees Fahrenheit and dropping, I didn't spend very much time outside in my slippers and robe and NO COAT... Windchill supposedly was negative 15 degrees. Nevertheless, I went outside just before midnight & shot quickly. So I did at least capture something to remember the 2018 "New Years Day" Super Moon.
Later, the moonlight coming into our warm home through the skylight was very bright and comforting. Although bitterly cold outside, what a nice beginning to a new year.
