When I first spotted him on the Marigold blossom, he was just going about his business with his head down. He was totally minding his own business.
I fired off a few shots, and then, he suddenly noticed me. His head went up, and he looked directly at me for about 3 seconds. His little head tilted slightly - back & forth - as he stared at the end of my lens. Finally processing his opinion of the giant human, who was pointing a big black "eye" at him, he then quickly dove underneath the petal.
Several times later. he'd start to again resurface. However each time that he spotted me with my camera, he instantly again dive for cover and then peek out.
I really wonder what he was thinking.
When we first made eye contact (as seen in the photo), it surprised both him & me. Obviously, I thought he was cuter than he thought I was... VBG.
