History Damaged

Clock at Union Station Kansas City

Due to "natural causes", this historic Clock fell yesterday afternoon and crashed to the payment below. The clock was heavily damaged and in pieces.

The historic clocks dates back to the 1880's
where it originally stood at the corner of 10th and Main Streets in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1936, it was moved to its current home outside the main entrance to Union Station.
Union Station says that it will try to repair the clock; however, damage is extensive.

This photo was taken at the end of day during Union Station's 100th Anniversary Celebration.

That is always sad to hear of such historic pieces being damaged or lost. It is such a pretty clock too. Hopefully they'll be able to repair it, though it may not be the same. How fortunate that you got such a lovely shot of it at the anniversary celebration.

Oh, no! At least you have a picture of it to remember the clock by.
