Although these chambers remain closed to the general public, it is now possible for a select few to walk in the path of history.
Heavy rains cause the chambers to flood and they remain closed for a large part of the year.
These same kind of heavy rains undoubtedly drowned trapped animals and perhaps even slaves
back in the days when gladiators made battle with captive beasts.
