When I noticed these fireworks tonight out my patio door, I grabbed the new bridge camera and fired off about a dozen shots. I was playing to see what the camera can do. After that, I watched the rest of the live show with my husband from our Family Room.
This was taken hand held using the "Night Scene" setting. This camera has no dedicated "Fireworks Mode". But it does have built in "star filter". The only out-of-the camera processing is a minor crop & the white frame.
The slight haze seems to come from mainly the smoke; but a bit may be the result of the higher ISO, no tripod, and/or the in-camera processing. Nevertheless, I like this as a Memory Shot. It will take me back to tonight. In addition to that, it has helped me to learn more about the new camera. I never imaged that such a hand held, fireworks shot could even be possible with a fixed lens camera and a tiny sensor.
I normally use a tripod for fireworks with my DSLR. Not one for normally shooting in an auto mode, I normally also would not have chosen f.2.8 nor this iso or speed. It was interesting to see what the "Night Scene" setting chose.
