If and when flood waters approach the rail road tracks, the blue portadam will be closed to protect downtown Parkville. If that doesn't stop waters from entering town, the Missouri American Water Compnay building at Parkville will flood.
Parkville has close to 5,500 people who rely on this water. Missouri American Water Company gets its water from the Missouri River and from alluvial wells in Parkville & St Joseph which is also experiencing flooding.
