Photographed circa 2010. However, Stromness was at its prime as a Whaling "factory" back in 1916. Since then, the Station has undergone two other transformations.
Nevertheless, this once vibrant community has now been abandoned for 50 years. Nature is gradually reclaiming the harbor.
