The former "water's edge" was where I was standing when I shot this image. It was a mud flat in which you could find many migrating shore birds each Spring.
I highly doubt that it will be possible to photograph shore birds (even with the largest of lenses and extenders) in the future at the distance which the water edge has been moved.
