Young Buck 2008

in the yard

Very unexpected! I looked out the window to see check the weather & saw this young fellow looking back at me. I then had to find the camera, attach a lens, and quietly go outside before he moved on. I also had to totally change all the settings on the camera to get this hand held in dull light. Deer are NOT common in our yard, and this is the first one that I've ever photographed here. Obviously "the city" moving farther & farther out - plus over building in the suburbs - is driving wild deer into residential areas.

I am happy that you got your shot after all the time it took you to get the camera together. I get the impression that his right eye is damaged. What do you think?

Nice sharp image of this "young buck"
It is a shame that our human existence and living style is beginning to interfere with the wildlife's life style..
Even here in Montana the wildlife are seeking the suburbs for their food. Mountain Lions, Bears and other animals are being seen in the backyards. Domestic pets are being killed and eaten on a regular basis...

Your efforts really paid off to get this great shot Liz! CB
A great opportunity for you and a kind of sad situation for the deer.
We need to leave enough original wildland on this earth for our wonderful wildlife.
