PADDLE STEAMERS

The longest river in Australia, the River Murray, has a long association with paddle steamers since the mid-1800s. These days many have been restored and are used for tourist cruises. The photos of mine were taken at the town of Echuca in Victoria. The most prominent paddle steamers photographed are the "Adelaide" (built in 1866), "Emmy Lou", "Canberra" and "Pride of the Murray".
