Between 1995 and 1999, I had added a few melamine pieces of furniture to my reportoire. Kari, my ballroom dance teacher, built most of them for me. By 2000, I was beginning to replace those with furniture I had had custom-made at Boston Wood. I designed it--they made it--and I finished it. It had the advantage of fitting my tiny apartment, and also being cheaper than buying furniture. I had also replaced the broken down futon I moved in with, with a queen size waterbed, which kept my feet nice and toasty, during the freezing cold Boston winter nights.
Christmas of 2000, my mom came out to visit, and used her tiny digital camera to take pictures of my apartment. The apartment was decorated for the my Christmas musical salon--the first annual Christmas party of the Warbling Wallabees.
