This was an overnight hike starting 9th October in 'Upper Muley Twist' canyon on the southern part of Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah. We hiked up the canyon with some side trips to explore a side canyon to the west and to scramble up the narrows at the northern end.

We then hiked up a cairned trail to the eastern rim of the canyon and hiked back south along the slickrock crest- the rim route. this had stunning views out east across the waterpocket fold to Tarantula Mesa and the Henry Mountains. Places we had visited on our Hayduke hike in 2014. A cold front passed over Utah on our hike so we had cold temperatures, below zero at night but nothing too bad. Another great scenic route!
