The Colorado "river" is artificially raised by the Glen Canyon Dam just around the corner from were we are here and is kinda-sorta part of Lake Powell at this point - huge impact visible on the Dark Canyon tributary: masses of sand piled up from the last high water line of Lake Powell (decades ago) and now forming "dunes" along the banks when really this should all be scoured. Lots of mud as can be seen. On the up-side: lots of beaver activity and fish and ducks
