We hiked 26 miles to get to Pie Town and savour the legendary pies. Unfortunately we arrived at 16:30, 30 minutes after the cafe had closed. But the owners took pity on us sitting on their porch and invited us in for pie, ice cream and coffee. It was wonderful!

Hi Brian and Martina. This is a wonderful gallery with lots of memories for me, but this foto and story made me laugh. I had been on a trip from Alamogordo NM to Douglas and Young in Arizona (for obvious reasons:) on the way back to alamogordo I saw several sign for the worlds best Pie in Pie Town and thought great a nice cup of coffee and pie to break the journey. I was also too late and had to press on to the next town, guess I'll have to go back to savour there delights. Thanks for sharing you fotos and great adventure..:>ote
