Salt Creek Canyonlands NP

Photos firstly from our visit to Horseshoe Canyon, home of one of the best rock art sites in the USA- the Great Gallery.

Next is our backpack in Salt Creek canyon in the east of Canyonlands National Park. We started from Cathedral Butte trailhead in the south and hiked for 2 and a half days then hiked the Peekaboo trail on the north side of Salt Creek as a day trip. Salt Creek was a pretty mellow hike for us with a green, wide canyon corridor and masses of rock art and cliff dwellings along the way. Our plan was set to some extent by being allocated specific campsites by the National Park and this meant that we had relatively short distances to hike freeing us up to explore lots! All in all a great canyon and one we would visit again. We also have a blog and videos here.
