Our first hike after arriving in the US from Scotland in late August 2019. We started at McGee Trailhead on the east side of the Californian Sierra mountains and hiked over McGee Pass on trails to the John Muir Trail/Pacific Crest Trail. Heading north on trail for a while we split to climb cross country into the beautiful Rams Lakes. After exiting these we headed on trail to Duck Lake then north cross country for a bit along Mammoth Crest to follow trail with great views into Mammoth Lakes. A varied a lovely hike.
