Into the Gentle Wilderness with Andrea

I recently had the opportunity to take my daughter Andrea on her first backpacking trip to the Sierras. "The Gentle Wilderness", as the Sierras are known, has been my mountain 'home' for most of my life. The backpacking trips I've taken there over the years form some of my most precious memories, my greatest adventures, and the opportunity to share this magnificent wilderness with my daughter was truly a dream come true!

Andrea and I had an absolutely fantastic trip - 4 days long, and in that short time managed to create a lifetime of memories. So many incredible sights, perfect weather, the Sierra granite, lush meadows, "High Sierra Tea", alpenglow, the best of company; I can't imagine how it could have been any better.

I love you, Andrea - thank you for sharing these moments, and making these memories with me!

What an adventure! I really enjoyed your journey into the "Gentle Wilderness". I've spent a lot of time on the eastern side of the Sierra, and really liked this viewpoint!

The man of yellows and oranges, desert and sandstone turned green and blue. That is a great change from the landscapes you took us to in your previous galleries and I enjoyed it very much but above all were the father and daughter sharing a lifetime experience. It encourages me to follow the idea and have some quality time of nature, my daughter and me as well.
