I had scouted the location prior to the shoot, so I knew of this dead bush along the shore that might make a very attractive composition with the setting moon. It turned out to be more wonderful than I had imagined, and chose this location to spend most of the remaining time while the indirect pre-dawn light was at its best. I had to be very careful with this composition, the the larger foreground bush was blocking the smaller bushes in the background in several earlier variations. Two bracketed exposures, 1.5 stops apart, were combined in order to optimize the dynamic range in this image. 0.5 sec, f/8. Contrast was increased a bit over the bottom of the image to add a bit of 'pop' to the foreground.
