5:15 PM. The light was becoming quite rich, and the last rays of the day were now shining on the tufa over the lake. I was busy shooting verticals with foreground objects (rocks, dead bushes, etc), but really liked this image best which isolates the glowing tufas against the cold water. Only a few ripples were in the water at this moment, but soon after this image was taken the wind really began to blow, and the surface of the water became quite active, destroying any opportunity for reflections, and making it downright cold. 1/180 sec, f/5.6.
