The mural on the façade of this theater, in the Gaîté theater district, reads: "Castigat ridendo mores": "He corrects (bad) behavior by laughing (at it)." I'm going to see Goldoni's "La Locandiera" there on Thursday: I'll let you know if I feel more moral afterwards.

Update: their "Locandiera" (one of two productions of the play running now in Paris) was well worth the time and cost. I don't think I feel any more moral, though.
