To celebrate 100 years of Swiss tourism publicity in France, the Swiss tourism office has put up an...odd, let us say...display in the Place Vendôme, including giant Christmas tree decorations and this neon spiral thing. It makes an odd contrast with the seventeenth-century royal square.
If you look closely at the giant reflecting ball (bottom center), on the right, you can see the column honoring Napoléon Bonaparte that is in the center of the square.
