The building on the left is in quite bad state, to judge from the way it is being propped up. It's easy to see the giant frame supporting the wall in front and the four beams that prop it against the building across the street. If you look closely, you can see that many of the windows also have wooden frames in them to stabilize it even further. I half expect it to fall down before the next time I walk down the street. (It's on the way to the closest market.)
FYI, the building at the end of the street is part of the Marcel Marceau Mime School. (No, I am not making this up!)
