2004-11-13: A chorus line?

Paris (12e), France

The police commissariat in the 12th arrondissement of Paris is decorated with these reproductions of Michelangelo's "Dying Slave." I have no idea why. They're pierced with a triangular hole; you can see that better in this alternate image: http://www.pbase.com/image/36372456.

Nikon Coolpix 5700

My guess is that the holes are for wind to pass through, like the little holes you often see in banners. But who knows, maybe the architect wanted them there.

You don't see things like this in the MidWestern States of the USA!
Nicely done.

Very impressive! But it makes me wonder, why the holes?
