In the little town of l'Ile-Bouchard, east of Chinon, I ran across this mass of warnings: one sign saying "Private Property -- No Admittance," another one with a picture of a Doberman and the legend, "Attention: I am on guard!" and a fence covered with nasty spikes, apparently for those who can't read.
