The Orangerie at the Château de Versailles is, like most other things there, on a grand scale. Whereas most orangeries are large linear halls, this one is built into the sides of a terrace below the château, facing south, so that the central part catches light all day long and the courtyard between the wings gets warmed. The trees almost look like toys.
P.S. I am still catching up with my postings. And due to a nasty cold, I didn't take a photo on Oct. 18. I expect my postings to be up to date by the end of October.
