In the background is the Victoria and Albert Museum and next door ,to the left,is the Science Museum .All this came about after The Great Exhibition of 1851 in Hyde Park about half a mile from here,when they wanted to find a home for all the many objects that had entranced the 6 million people who visited.The collections have grown a fair bit since then!
